Post-Packing Jitters

I know what you're thinking, "Packing? Packing for what? ...And, is 'post-packing' even a word?" Well, first of all, I have no clue if that's a word; I just kind of concocted it myself(btw, I do that a lot). But, if you're so illiterate that you have no clue what it might mean, its just a way of saying "after packing." And, secondly, I'm packing because I'm leaving for Boston, Massachusetts, tomorrow! Yes, that's right. I, Karen Camile Tompkins, one of the most southern/"redneck" people you'll ever know, am going UP NORTH. And, to top it all off, I'm super stoked about it. Crazy, right? But, anyways. In case you were wondering, the reason I'm going up there, is to see some family. The only ones I know of are as follows: Uncle Fran, Aunt Angela, and Tim(not sure if he's an actual uncle or not, so we'll stick with his first name, for now). I'm looking forward to seeing Uncle Fran the most, of course. I mean, who wouldn't want to spend quality time with a crazy, Italian uncle that has the coolest Boston accent ever, and always gives you life lessons in terms of basball? That's right. Only jerks wouldn't. And, I, my friend, am not a jerk. I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm excited to stay with Aunt Angela and Tim, too, but I've only met them once, so I'm not sure exactly how they do things and such. Uncle Fran, on the other hand, I grew up with him, and look up to him a lot. But, we'll see what this journey entails. Another reason why we're going up there is to go to a Red Sox game(the baseball team that my brother-in-law, Ricky, is absolutely obsessed with), and just go sight-seeing. I mean, ITS BOSTON. There's lots of cool(mostly historical, but still cool) places to see.
I just got done packing, except for a few odd-end things that have to wait until later, cleaned my room, and decided to go ahead and do a pre-Boston blog to let you guys in on what exactly is going on. Especially, since my cousin, Chelsey, keeps nagging me about blogging. (Hey, Chels(: ). I, honestly, don't even know if I'll be able to get an internet connection at their houses, or if I'll even have the time to get on the internet, much less blog. So, this could be my first, and only, blog about Boston until I get back. But, I'll try my best to find a way to keep you guys(or, really, just Chels, and maybe my mom; I doubt anyone else will actually read this) updated. But, I don't really care who reads it or not. I mean, yes, I encourage anyone/everyone to continue reading/following my blog, but, if you don't, there will be no hard feelings. Not only because I wouldn't exactly know if you were following along here unless you told me, but also because I just do this to practice my writing skills(I love writing, btw), get my feelings out, and so anyone who cares to know what I'm up to can actually know and hear it from me.
Oh, and in case you were wondering(since, I know you probably are), when I say '"We are going to Boston," I'm referring to my older sister, Stevie(the middle child), and her husband, Ricky, and I. They have 2 kids, but they're staying here with the grandparents. I wasn't even supposed to go at first, because I would be the one babysitting, but then they changed their plans and said that I could go if I wanted. I asked my mom, and she told me that I could if we had the money. And, honestly, I prepared myself for disappointment since we never really have the money for anything, but I was very surprised, and extremely happy/relieved, when she said I could actually go. Now, here we are, less than 24 hours away(16 hours and some odd minutes, to be exact), I'm packed(for the most part), and now its just a matter of time. And, trust me, I'm not exactly the most patient person in the world. And, in that time frame before we leave, I have to: go to church(for 2 hours, since we're having dinner there, tonight), somehow get my dad to get me minutes for my phone(they're supposed to already be up, but its still working, and he hates buying me minutes, but he'll get over it), absolutely, positively be completely packed and ready to go, attempt sleep(I'm a night owl, btw. I'll probably end up reading all night), get up, take a shower, wait for Ricky, then make sure I put everything in the van, and wait until Stevie gets off work, THEN, we FINALLY get to leave. But, of course, its about a 23 hour drive, so I won't even actually be there until FRIDAY. I'm going to lose my mind. But, oh well. Its not like I need it anyway, haha. Well, "that's all I have to say about thaaat." Sorry, I love Forrest Gump. But, seriously. The next time you guys and gals get to read this, I'll be in Boston! Woohoo! I just wish everything goes as good as I hope it will.
